This foundational course covers the fundamentals of handgun shooting. If you are a first time handgun owner or unsure how to hold your handgun, load your magazine, shoot what you are aiming at, or act in the range, this course is for you. We start in the classroom covering safety, range etiquette and proper stance to hit your target. The rest of the class will be on the range, and you will shoot up to 150 rounds of ammunition. You will leave with the foundational knowledge so you can come to the Handgun Proficiency class and feel prepared to learn additional skills.

Why switch between rifle and pistol, or from you strong to support side?  Smooth, safe weapon transitions give you options: engage threats at different ranges, effectively clear stoppages, and use of cover more effectively.  This advanced, physically demanding course sharpens those transition skills.  

Natural Point of Aim and retention fire are defensive handgun skills that are hard (or impossible) to practice at a typical range.  This Skills Lab focuses on developing both through targeted drills: fast paced and focused on repetitions, this Skills Lab finishes with a simplified version of the alley scene drill from the movie 'Collateral'.
