Beginner Handgun: Apr 21-22, 2026 | Orem TP

6 hours — Designed to establish fundamental techniques and knowledge you need to be a safe and effective shooter, and establish correct habits that will set you up for success. You will learn how handguns function, safe handling, loading and unloading, how to grip your handgun, proper body position and stance, using your handgun's sights, hitting your target, etc.

This foundational course covers the fundamentals of handgun shooting. If you are a first time handgun owner or unsure how to hold your handgun, load your magazine, shoot what you are aiming at, or act in the range, this course is for you. We start in the classroom covering safety, range etiquette and proper stance to hit your target. The rest of the class will be on the range, and you will shoot up to 150 rounds of ammunition. You will leave with the foundational knowledge so you can come to the Handgun Proficiency class and feel prepared to learn additional skills.

2 hours — Get off the X! Learn to effectively shoot and hit your target while you are moving.

Shooting and moving is a key part of training and being prepared. If it is not practiced on a regular basis those skills will be lost. We developed this course to assist professionals and CCW holders to maintain their skills. Working entirely from concealment, movement will be introduced into your training while still working on the essential deployment and accuracy skills necessary to be remain proficient with your everyday carry gear.

2 hours — How to safely and effectively fire your weapon from retention when you don't have time or space to utilize the sights.

This skill builder class will help you to focus on developing and improving your Natural Point of Aim (NPA and retention fire skills by utilizing drills that specifically require the use of multiple shooting positions. Natural point of aim and retention fire are two defensive handgun techniques that are often overlooked or even difficult to practice in traditional range settings.
